The 54th ASA in 2020 promotes the theme of "Imaginable Futures: Design Thinking and Scientific Methods". The theme predominantly concentrates on the future of built environments and encourages interdisciplinary incorporation of architecture-related disciplines to contribute to the enhancement of the overall performance of buildings and urban areas, the reduction of the carbon footprint as well as the impact on citizens. The theme of the 54th ASA calls for relevant and innovative concepts, solutions and insights from the diverse fields of Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), with an emphasis on future buildings and living environments, demonstrating critical thinking and practical advances in the application of architectural science towards smarter, sustainable, and liveable urban futures from an interdisciplinary perspective.
